Toronto, Ontario is the most multicultural city in the world. Forty-seven percent of the Greater Toronto area is first generation immigrant.
The brand new GTA (Greater Toronto Area) Canada IMB team needs two new partner churches that have an affinity with and passion to reach university students, faculty and the psychographic known by some as “post modern, post Christian” in the University community for the purpose of starting churches in this metropolis of 6 million people. We will be targeting two universities with a total student population of 110,000 students. These are the University of Toronto and York University. We need partner churches that will send groups repeatedly to join us at the various stages of our church planting strategy especially during the fall and spring semesters but not exclusively.
Possibilities for partnership within the Church relationships might include:
Prayer Walking, doing personal Evangelism on campus, (music, conversation, movie night), small group initiation, one-on-one/two/three discipleship, or conducting leadership training workshops.
Two female or male students willing to do a semester at either school in an “overseas” exchange program and work as a team to develop networks and relationships might be another option.
A church to campus adoption in which the church adopts a particular campus to pray for and develop strategies to reach may be the ideal partnership.
All of these and more can be a part of our partner relationship. We want to involve the partnering church in the strategy planning process with the IMB unit so they have an intimate connection with the ministry and can match church gifting and ministry goals more closely.
