Guest post by Jório and Nordely Francílio, Brazilian Home Mission Board missionaries.
With great joy we have started planting the Baptist University Congregation in Teresina!

Jório and Nordely with new believers at University Baptist Church
A great blessing we have been reserved by the Lord to send volunteers from Ceara, Maranhao and Para to help us in this blessed task of evangelizing the neighborhood residents in Ininga, a community of families of high income class, university students and financially successful professionals of our city.
Not even the high and well protected walls with their electric fences, big houses and condominiums were barriers to the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ to be preached and many lives confessed HIM as their personal Savior! It was amazing to experience the reception given to the Amarelinhos (nickname for the volunteers that worn yellow t-shirts all the time)
The team´s presence during the days they were here was an impact to many people. Constantly we were stopped as we passed by and we were given the opportunity to share the love of God!
One day a mother approaches us and beg that we preach for her daughter right there in the middle of the street and then she received Christ and is now willing to serve HIM! Another wonderful experience was when we visited the college students dorms and a young man surrendered his life to Jesus and then we asked him if we could come back to start a bible study on the weekend and for our great surprise when we got there he had invited six of his colleagues to listen to us! 05 of them are studying to become civil engineers. Doesn´t that sound great for a new church that will soon be in need of builders…
Due to the lack of intimidation by vicious guard dogs and a few closed doors, 79 adults and 33 children were reached by the redeeming grace of Jesus! Upon this new challenge we pray, for God to enlighten the spiritual guidance and that the Holy Spirit will help us to keep those fruits!

Jório leads new believers in Bible study
We are still adjusting to our new small house in the mission field, at the place where we live and also have our first meetings of worship, praise, prayer and bible study. The enthusiasm is visible, but the dependence on the wisdom and divine guidance is our rule!
At this point we realize that there is much to be gained and what encourages us to lift our eyes to our next steps in order to bring many other souls to GOD!
Certainly counting on your prayers as you will be part of this missionary work, and we can count on your cooperation, also with your strength, support and partnership to continue to win to Christ those who we have already won in our hearts!
GOD bless you all!
