Northside Baptist Church, Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, recently participated in a World Changers International mission trip to the island of Barbados. Jon Burdette (bottom left in photo), Associate Pastor of Students at the church, led the team which was joined by others from South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Texas, New Mexico, Arkansas, and Georgia. jonburdette1

Projects included street evangelism in Bridgetown, Wednesday night services/youth rallies in two different churches (First National Baptist and Community Fellowship), ministry with students in several different schools, and painting two buildings at one of the schools.   Throughout the week over 500 people heard the gospel message and 150 received Christ as their Savior.

One leader said of the youth participating in the week long project, “I know our students have to be getting tired, but if you were in worship tonight – you wouldn’t believe it.  They were SO LOUD during worship that I’m sure the whole island heard them praising God!  Do you ever have one of those moments that just seem to define your week?  As far as our worship is concerned, tonight seems to be that night for me.”
