What is a Makeover?
The word “makeover” has been used for years in the beauty and fashion world. Recently I discovered a FREE MAKEOVER website where you can upload your photo and give yourself a virtual makeover. I had a lot of fun playing with a colleague’s photo on the site!
Anyway, the word makeover simply means to renovate or restore.* Makeovers of any sort have some common elements:
- A need or desire to change present conditions
- Professional analysis of what needs to be changed
- A review of available options for creating the desired end-result
- Renovation plans made and agreed upon
- Actual makeover implemented
What is a Missions Ministry Makeover?
A missions ministry makeover applies the same principle to a church’s overall missions ministry.
- It starts with a recognized need and desire to improve your church’s missions ministry

- Prayer for your church’s mission ministry can reveal needs and inspire a desire to improve

- (praying, giving, going)?
- Reach its missions offerings goals?
- Present the gospel to every type of person in your community in a culturally relevant way?
- Plan to start another church a church in the next 3 years?
- Go into the community to serve others?
- Hear missionary testimonies of missions impact in the field?
- Pray for Acts 1:8 missions to happen in your church?
- Teach and Preach a Biblical, theological stance on the need for missions?
- Share faith in Christ?
- Minister directly in ALL FOUR areas of Jesus’ missions challenge in Acts 1:8?
- Your Jerusalem (local)?
- Your Judea (state)?
- Your Samaria (U.S.)?
