The KBC-Maryland/Delaware partnership is very blessed to have Angela Cornett serving as a summer intern in the Delaware Association office. She will be under the supervision of Jim McBride, Consultant for Embrace Wilmington, and Mal Utleye, Interim Director of Missions for the association. In addition to her enthusiasm for using her strengths and abilities to glorify God, Angela brings a wealth of personal skills and experience that will serve her well in this position.
Upon graduation from the University of Houston, Angela served as Campus Minister to Bowie State University from 2004-2007. Presently, she serves as Associate Campus Minister to Kentucky State University, where her responsibilities include coordinating outreach opportunities and Bible Studies, developing partnerships with local churches and various campus personnel, developing Bible Study curriculum and editing media publicity projects.
This summer her primary duty will be to assist the Delaware Baptist Association in building relationships with pastors, churches, and other faith-based agencies ministering in and around the city of Wilmington. In addition, Angela will assist in designing, printing, and delivering promotional materials to churches, and Wilmington area media outlets.
She will be involved in planning, promoting, and implementing inner city summer activities that include: The Wilmington Games, the Summer Festival in the Caesar Rodney Park, homeless ministry, and servant evangelism projects around the city.
She will supervise summer mission teams coming from Kentucky to do light construction, painting, mulching, landscaping in city parks, Backyard Bible Clubs, Nursing home ministry and prayer walking, in addition to assisting local Baptist churches in and around the city with Backyard Bible Clubs, block parties, and surveying. Also, she will work closely with Ogletown Baptist Church in housing the summer mission teams and conducting various summer outreach activities through Embrace Wilmington and in their local communities.
Sounds like Angela is going to be a busy lady this summer. Please pray for her ministry in Delaware.
