As You Are Going . . . .

Well, it’s vacation time; school’s out, gas prices are on the rise, and the grass needs to be cut, again. My family and I are on vacation this week visiting my daughter’s family in Connecticut.

On the road again

On the road again

No matter where you may be headed on vacation this year, any trip can be a mission trip by remembering to prayer walk and prayer drive (I’ve not seen any material on the latter, but it seems to me it would be as effective as prayer walking) as you are going!

It’s a simple idea that’s easy to do, but hard to remember. So come up with some ways to remind yourself to pray for the people and places you see. You could tape a card to the dash that simply reads “pray.” And for the walking perhaps put something in your pocket that will remind you everytime you reach for change. Be creative!

So, as you are going to Reno, Chicago, Fargo, Minnesota, Buffalo, Toronto, Winslow, Sarasota, Wichita, Tulsa, Ottowa, Oklahoma, Tampa, . . . . . and everywhere else. . . .

PRAY for the places you visit.

What should you pray? Just use the verb “OPEN” and go from there:

  • Lord, open the heavens to bless this place with your grace.
  • Lord, open these these homes to your Word.
  • Lord, open the hearts of these people to your gospel.
  • Lord, open doors of opportunity for your Word to be preached in that school, that hospital over there.
  • Etc.

Have a fun and safe vacation! And, by the way, you might want to pray for your family as well . . . . as you are going!
