Many have talked with Mary Livingston, the Ministry Assistant of the Partnership Missions Department when contacting our office, but few have actually met her. As Mary marks fifteen years with KBC, I thought it would be a good idea for each of you to get to know her a little better.

Before coming to KBC, Mary had a wide variety of job experiences as a telephone operator for Bell South, bookkeeper for a finance company, dental assistant, and tax consultant with H&R Block. Since coming to KBC in 1985 she has faithfully served wherever needed, working in the Minister and Church Relations Department, the Partnership Missions Department, and the Sunday School Department before accepting the call to return to Partnership Missions as Ministry Assistant.

Mary is blessed with a unique ability to adapt to new situations as evidenced in the many departments she has worked with at KBC. This gift of flexibility is essential in her present role in connecting people of different backgrounds and cultures, and dealing with last minute volunteer needs. The diversity of tasks and progressive strategies involved in this rapidly changing ministry requires Mary to acquire new skills or creatively adapt existing ones to meet the challenge.

Mary is the “voice of the Partnership Missions Department.” Her pleasant and cheerful demeanor is the first point of contact for most people contacting the office. Her ability to relate well with people greatly facilitates the operation of the department and her enthusiasm for the job contributes to a great team environment. She enjoys relating with her colleagues and developing strong personal relationships.

Obviously, Mary is a cherished and important member of the KBC family and we are all blessed to have had her with us for these 15 years.
